THE LIGHTLY STRUNG ORCHESTRA
Celebrating music, friendship & ukulele magic!
From 2012 to 2024, the Lightly Strung Orchestra (LSO) brought together a wonderfully diverse and enthusiastic community of ukulele players who shared a love of music, friendship and performing together.
What began as a small group of keen ukesters grew into an ever-expanding, occasionally motley, but always joyful sea of aqua blue!
Over the years, the LSO gave 76 public performances, all with free admission, sharing our music with audiences of all ages. From retirement villages, RSL clubs and shopping centres around Sydney to festivals on the Central Coast, Newcastle and the Blue Mountains, we embraced every opportunity to spread a little musical happiness.
But the LSO was always about so much more than performing. It was about discovering new musical possibilities, building confidence, making lifelong friendships and experiencing the sheer joy of creating music together.
Our final performance in February 2024 marked the end of a remarkable musical adventure, but certainly not the end of the memories.
A musical journey to remember

Our magnificent sea of aqua blue may have played its final chord together, but the friendships, laughter and musical memories will live on.
